Reproduction Florentine 15th century tabernacle frame for Sandro Botticelli

We were asked to produce this tabernacle frame by Paul Mitchell Ltd for Botticelli’s 'The Virgin Adoring the Sleeping Christ Child'.  The frame has stop-fluted Corinthian pilasters supporting the entablature with dentil moulding and the base with lotus leaf moulding. The frame was entirely hand carved, water gilded and the inscriptions all hand-painted.  The gilding was then aged and distressed to give the appearance of an antique 15th century period frame.
