16th century Spanish frame

We were commissioned to produce a large reproduction of a 16th century Spanish frame.  The profile was created using a spindle moulder and then the entire frame was hand-carved; as you can see from the images the frame was gessoed, water-gilded and then burnished.  One of the images shows the contrast between the untoned gilding adjacent to the aged finish.  The frame is now hanging in Spain.
