Italian Baroque frame
We produced a large hand-carved and water-gilded Italian Baroque reproduction frame for a painting by the 16/17th century female Italian artist Artemisia Gentileschi. In Florence she established herself as an independent artist becoming the first woman to gain membership to the Academy of the Arts of Drawing in 1616. On returning to Rome she became extremely sought-after and was a follower of Caravaggio.
